Release of the EMCDDA's 2012 Work Programme

Release of the EMCDDA's 2012 Work Programme

The task of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), is to provide the European Community and its Member States with factual, objective, reliable and comparable information on the drugs problem in Europe.

The EMCDDA today published their workplan for 2012, which shows the topics they will cover throughout the year.

Of particular interest to EURAD affiliates will be the publication of the following:

  • Special reports on Drug Using Parents, Drugs in Prison and Drug Tourism

  • Insight documents on Therapeutic Communities in Europe, models of addiction and social reintegration and reduction of social exclusion of drug users

The document also provides details of how the EMCDDA budget will be spent in 2012. For example, it shows that the EMCDDA will spend over €1million more on monitoring demand reduction responses as opposed to evaluating supply reduction interventions in 2012.
